Music

Our Music curriculum is designed to inspire creativity, self-expression, and a lifelong appreciation of music. We aim to develop confident performers, thoughtful composers, and critical listeners who can engage with music from a wide range of genres, cultures, and historical periods.

We offer an inclusive and engaging curriculum that encourages all students to explore their musical potential, whether through performance, composition, or analysis. Music supports personal development, emotional wellbeing, and collaboration, while also building discipline and resilience.

By the end of Key Stage 4, students will be able to:

  • Perform music with technical control, expression, and confidence
  • Compose original music using a range of techniques and styles
  • Analyse and evaluate music using appropriate musical vocabulary
  • Understand the cultural, historical, and stylistic contexts of music
  • Use music technology to support performance and composition

Our intent is to equip students with the skills, creativity, and cultural awareness to succeed in further study, the music industry, and beyond.
