A High Performing Specialist Academy for Technology & Applied Learning

4 December 2019

Enterprise Days

We had two very successful Enterprise Days last Thursday and Friday.  There were a wide range of activities on-site including forensic science sessions, a Young Citizen’s play, code-breaking exercises and  team engineering challenges.  There were also a number of trips organised including visits to Harry Potter World, the Neasden Temple and Gravity Force.  All-in-all some fantastic experiences for our students providing additional breadth and variety to their education.

Year 11 Mock Exams

This was a very intensive week for our Year 11 students who were involved in a high number of mock exams.  This valuable experience of what the students will face in the summer went extremely well and the external invigilators were full of praise for the behaviour and attitude of our students.

Year 7 Applications for September

I have received initial notification of our student numbers for Year 7 for September.  I am delighted that these figures show that first preferences for Collingwood are the highest in the last 10 years and confirm that we will comfortably hit our Published Admission Number (PAN) target of 300.  The figures show that first preferences have increased year-on-year since 2013 and that the total number of all preferences for 2020 is also at a record number from a similar sized Year 6 cohort.  This is a great morale booster for everyone connected with Collingwood as well as it having a significantly positive impact on our financial situation in the coming years!
