Pastoral Support in the Sixth Form

At Collingwood Sixth Form we want all our students to feel safe and supported and place great emphasis on providing both personal and academic support.  We recognise that in addition to supporting your education, it is our responsibility to ensure that your wellbeing and preparation for the future is also a key focus.

The role of the Personal Tutor

When you join Year 12 you will be allocated a Personal Tutor who will act as your mentor for the two years you are in Sixth Form.  Your Personal Tutor will be your first point of contact and will support your personal welfare and academic progress through the 1:1 Personal Tutorial and Seminar programme.

Your Personal Tutor:

  • Will provide pastoral and academic support on a 1:1 basis

  • Will monitor, track and support student progress and attendance to ensure quality outcomes

  • Will liaise with students, parents and teachers regarding pastoral and academic progress

  • Will provide information advice and guidance that enables students to progress post-18

  • Will support students through and will provide references for UCAS, apprenticeship and employment applications.
