Social, Emotional and Mental Health Difficulties

Students who have needs in this area display behaviour which reflects an underlying mental health difficulty such as anxiety, depression, self-harming and eating disorders.  Other young people may have Attention Deficit Syndrome (previously known as ADHD, ADD) or Attachment Disorder.

We have a wide range of interventions in place to help students.  The most consistent support from the strong pastoral infrastructure at Collingwood.  Support becomes more targeted as needs emerge, and range from Social Skills, Anger Management, and Emotional Literacy sessions, to periods with outside agencies like the Behaviour Support Service or Camberley Youth for Christ or Eikon.  Where students need more dedicated and prolonged intervention, this can come in the form of help from the Accelerated Learning Centre and work with the Deputy SENCo.

For further information about our support of students with social, emotional and mental health difficulties please contact us on 01276 457600 and ask for the SEN Department, or if you currently have a student at Collingwood use our online communication system (accessible via Edulink, Links) to request further information.
