Dear Parents/Carers
Further update on 2020 exams - the latest news from Ofqual
We expect to receive detailed information from Ofqual tomorrow about the process and timetable which will apply this summer. We will forward this information to parents as soon as we receive this.
Easter Holiday provision for children of Key Workers and Vulnerable Students
I can now confirm that our on-site provision will be open over the Easter holidays (closed on Good Friday and Bank holiday Monday). I would like to acknowledge the fantastic response from staff in volunteering to run this provision during this period.
Donation of goggles and personalised gloves
We have exhausted our supplies of goggles and gloves, having distributed them to Frimley Park Hospital and other facilities in Surrey. It was lovely to receive the feedback below which I thought you would like to see:
"Thank you so much! You cannot imagine what a difference your donations have made - you have definitely restored our faith in human kindness! Our doctors and nurses could not believe that they could now have their own pair of goggles, as the supply has been so intermittent and, as I told you, we had just run out of visors (disposable) when you arrived. We are grateful to you and your colleagues."
"These are coming just at the right time, thank you so much."
“Thank you very much - they are fab! Any more would be gratefully received. you are doing a brilliant job btw.”
Parent Communication System
During this closure period I think it imperative that the Senior Leadership Team (SLT) are very aware of any issues that you are concerned about and therefore can I ask you that please use our College On-line Communication System available via the Parent Portal rather than emailing individual departments or staff.
Your communication will be directed to the appropriate individual but, crucially, a weekly report will be circulated to the SLT so that we can monitor any problems or trends. SLT have viewed all the communications received this week and it was very encouraging to read that, apart from two operational issues, all the comments were exceptionally positive in relation to our communications and work for students.
Additional Support
We are aware that the government has written to 1.5 million people who have been advised to stay in doors for 12 weeks as a precautionary measure and to safeguard them due to medical conditions that identify them as" at risk". If your child has been identified in this group, please do not hesitate to inform your child’s Year Manager to discuss if there is any additional support we may be able to provide. The wellbeing of all our students is paramount at this moment and we will support if we are able to.
Again, my thanks for your support.
